Windies looking to show more consistency against Pakistan

Yesterday’s third One Day International did not go West Indies’ way. Winning the toss and uncharacteristically batting first, the batsmen again disappointed their fellow bowlers, only batting for 45.1 overs to reach 152 runs, which the Australians reached with 117 balls remaining. Indeed, it might be said that the batsmen have not “earned their keep” in much of the recent two series.

“Yes, we have been a bit inconsistent with the bat at times,” agreed captain Kieron Pollard, who joined West Indies cricket coach Phil Simmons for a press conference ahead of the start of four T20 Internationals against Pakistan on Wednesday July 28, 2021. “We try to play all 3 facets of the game properly and have that perfect game all the time,” he added, going on to say that the players were working hard to improve.

Coach Phil Simmons fielded questions regarding team selection and playing frequency, among other topics. Click here to watch the full video.
