In 2014, within four months after I had interviewed Vincentian batsman Sunil Ambris for the first time, he was selected to play for the West Indies A team against Sri Lanka A. It was the stepping stone to his eventual call up for the senior team to play in a One Day International in 2017. More about that in future posts.

The setting was a corridor off the lobby of the Radisson Grenada Beach Resort. Ambris was then a member of the St Lucia T20 team playing in the Limacol Caribbean Premier League, as it was known back then.
