Cricket West Indies have announced that Phil Simmons will step down as Head Coach. It was inevitable.
CWI must think carefully about its next Head Coach. Personally, I thought it was wrong to get rid of the previous coach, and just before the World Cup.
The captaincy of Nicholas Pooran must also come under scrutiny. CWI must look at recruitment and selection in the same way a corporate organisation would. Put out an ad among the players, do assessments and interviews and then evaluate all candidates against a set criteria.
We will watch and see.
