Hero #CPL15 T20 Diary 3: Jamaica Tallawahs vs Barbados Tridents

Today it’s all about preservation on two fronts. First, Jamaica Tallawahs will want to preserve their 100% win record against defending champions Barbados Tridents. Second, I need to preserve my health! Yes, I feel the common cold coming on. Woke up with scratchy throat on Friday. Immediately took medication and drank lots of fluids, so […]

Hero #CPL15 T20 Diary 2: Jamaica Tallawahs vs Trinidad & Tobago Red Steel

“One more night, give me just one more night” was pumping over the speakers when I arrived around the same time as I did on Tuesday. Indeed, give Jamaica Tallawahs one more night this Thursday to put up another authority stamping T20 performance in the Hero CPL 2105. Let’s see what the boys can do in this […]

Hero #CPL15 T20 Diary 1: Jamaica Tallawahs vs St Lucia Zouks

I cannot recall seeing Sabina Park being so full in my recent memory! Well the way my brain has been working these days, that doesn’t count for much. But the point is made.  There are lots of people here. From I arrived at the George Headley end at approximately 5:15 p.m., patrons could be seen in […]

Ready, set, lights! @CPL #CPL15 @JAMTallawahs vs @SLUZouks

First proper match at Sabina Park under lights! It’s the Hero Caribbean Premier League (CPL) T20 match number 16 between the host Jamaica Tallawahs and the St Lucia Zouks.  Spectators are steadily streaming in…from work or from not……the music from the Party Stand is back, after being absent for the recent Test match series between the […]

CRICKET DIARY: DAY 4 – WEST INDIES VS AUSTRALIA AT SABINA PARK

Jah know star…..I am getting ready to go to cricket with a heavy heart. The emotional roller coaster that the West Indies players take spectators on is not a thrilling ride. I picked up a media colleague who was visiting from another island. We discussed the possibility of how long the match would last. It was on […]

CRICKET DIARY: DAY 3 – WEST INDIES VS AUSTRALIA AT SABINA PARK

The conversation in my house before heading to Sabina Park was whether the match would end on Day 3. I was optimistic and said to my father that Jason Holder could get another century, just like he did in Antigua. I believe Dad ‘steupsed’ or ‘kissed his teeth’ (something which apparently only West Indians do […]

CRICKET DIARY: DAY 2 – WEST INDIES VS AUSTRALIA AT SABINA PARK

Reached to the ground about 5 minutes before play started. Sat in the lower stands for a while, taking pictures and trying to help a photographer to get wifi. Headed up the stairs, on foot. I use these 5 day matches to try and get some more exercises, especially because of the food which is […]

Cricket Diary: Day 1 – West Indies vs Australia at Sabina Park

Fortunate to be seeing two Test matches this year, the first having been against England in Grenada in April. Will have to look at my Pictures file to see if I was at Sabina Park last year and for what. Things are a blur sometimes…these days. Greeted the usual Caribbean persons in the press box […]

Devon Smith On Verge Of Creating History In Grenada

The person who will be most proud though is Miss Ann, his mother. Back in 2003, I went to the Smith house in Hermitage St Patrick to interview Devon. He was not there so I chatted with his parents first. Sadly, his father passed away a few years ago. As you will hear in the audio clip, Devon loves his parents, and I definitely got that feeling.
